Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a patient-centered approach where every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to the individual to meet their needs during each session.

Acupuncture is just one of the treatment modalities that falls under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). See below for some of our other offerings including cupping, guasha, and nutritional guidance.

Intake

On the first visit, we’ll discuss what you want to work on and review your health history, so we can create a clear, easy to follow treatment plan to help you reach your goals. Subsequent sessions will include a brief check-in to review your progress.

Acupuncture

Hair-thin, sterile, single-use stainless steel needles are inserted into strategic points on the body. Most people barely notice as the needles go in, and they should be comfortable once in place. Next, it’s nap time! Your only job now is to relax and let the needles do the work.

Herbal Medicine

Personalized herbal formulas and/or supplements may be recommended as part of your treatment plan to maximize the effects of your acupuncture treatments. Think of it like homework between treatments.

Cupping

Almost like a reverse massage, glass or silicone cups deliver a mechanism of decompression on body tissue, encouraging circulation, myofascial release, and improvements in blood chemistry. Cupping can help to relieve pain and sore muscles, clear congestion, and improve skin tone.

Guasha

An ancient technique that involves gliding the smooth edge of a stone tool along the skin, facial quasha has gained recent popularity in the beauty industry for its ability to improve the appearance of the skin, but the technique can also be used on the body to relieve muscle pain and tension by creating an anti-inflammatory response and breaking up adhesions.

Ear Seeding

Tiny 24k plated stainless steel beads are placed on acupuncture points in the ear using an adhesive sticker. Acupressure from the seeds stimulates the selected points to support your treatment goals. They’re like little souvenirs from your acupuncture treatment, and they look chic too.

Moxibustion

An herb called mugwort is burned near the skin to penetrate beneficial heat into the body. The technique helps to improve circulation, relieve pain, and heal damaged tissue. We also use moxibustion to encourage a fetus in breech presentation to wiggle into head-down position by creating an optimal environment in the womb.

Nutrition

According to TCM, food is medicine, so think of your food as part of your prescription. After your initial visit, you’ll receive a personalized plan with dietary recommendations and everything you’ll need to implement them into your daily life: grocery lists, recipes, and meal plans.

Lifestyle

As a complete holistic medical system, TCM addresses the whole person, so your sessions won’t end in the office or even on your plate. To help you find balance in your mind, body, and environment, you’ll learn techniques to optimize your movement, mindfulness, and surroundings.
